Most of the people using personal computers at home frequently lament, “my PC is slow”. Our frustration will increase when there is an inordinate delay in the opening of any programs and/or files. Out of frustration or desperation, some of us might try to speed up the process by clicking on the mouse or hitting the escape key or arrow keys, and in the bargain have our personal computer getting crashed or hanged up, forcing us to restart the PC and, in the process, increase our frustration further.
A number of factors affect the performance of the PC. When the available memory of the file is relatively low, the performance will get affected. The existence of a large chunk of files in the recycle bin is one of those irritants that occupy space and affect the performance. The files deleted from the directories in the computer will get stored in the recycle bin. Unless and until the files are deleted from the recycle bin, the memory space will not get increased.
One simple thing that can be done to improve the performance of the PC is to frequently clear the files in the recycle bin and free up the space. Alternatively, else, while deleting the unwanted files, instead of using the “delete” key, one can use the “shift+del” key to ensure that the unwanted files are deleted directly from the system and not directed to the recycle bin. However, before using the “shift+del” key, you must be doubly sure that the file is not required any further. On the other hand, you may not retrieve the file again.
After ensuring that the recycle bin is emptied, then temporary Internet files should be removed from the PC, which are otherwise occupying space unnecessarily and affecting the performance of the PC.
By clearing up the recycle bin and removing the temporary Internet files, the performance of the PC can be improved and a little of improvement in the speed of the machine can be realized.
The fastest way to speed up a PC would be to simply download a registry cleaner and run a scan. It will clear up errors and instantly speed up application loading and PC boot up times.
