10 Destinations Where Love Is In The Air
Thanks to budget airlines you can find cheap flights to an increasing number of destinations, so why not take your partner away to a soppily named destination this Valentine’s Day? Here is an insight into the Top 10 most romantic places on planet earth. 1. Kissing (Germany) – this small municipality in the Bavaria region is the ideal place to get a snog, as opposed to the nearby town – Bad Kissingen – a world famous spa resort, but probably not the place to try and plant one on the lips. 2. Romance (USA) – according to Wikipedia, the community of Romance was named by a teacher who thought the views around the town were particularly romantic. It proved prudent too; thousands now flock the local post office every year to get a ‘Romance’ postmark on their love letters. 3. Heart Peaks (Canada) – this volcano located in British Columbia, Canada, has been dormant for an era or two; an ideal place to declare your erupting love? 4. Heart’s Content (Canada) – the population of this small town located in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador declined by 8% during 1996 to 2001; perhaps the locals’ hearts aren’t as content as the name of their hometown suggests? 5. Valentine (Australia) – a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, formerly known for coal mining. Lake Macquarie itself is Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake and offers a romantic place to enjoy camping, boating or swimming. Rose (USA) – a small town in Wayne County, New York, that was settled around 200 years ago. Rather than giving your partner the stereotypical dozen red roses why not surprise them this year by picking up a couple of flights to New York> and whisking them away on a romantic break to Rose. 7. Date (Japan) – actually pronounced ‘Dar-tay’, Japan has not one, but two cities of this name. The first is located on Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido; the other is on the main island of Honshu. Truelove Lowlands (Devon Island, Canada) – it’s actually pretty unlikely that you would find true love in Truelove, because Devon Island happens to be the world's largest uninhabited island. 9. Lover (UK) – the local post office of this small Wiltshire village gets inundated with Valentines cards come mid-February from romantics who find the 'Lover' postmark is a highly prized accessory. 10.
