MLM stands for Multi-Level Marketing. Breaking that down even further; “Marketing” is the process of taking a product or service and offering it to a customer, client or any individual or group. Like if you go to a market, there are many individuals trying to “market” their stuff. Take some time and read what (if any) things there are to be said. Some of the findings may just be from unhappy individuals who failed and can’t accept the fact that it was their fault, so don’t take everything at face-value.

They all differ slightly but in essence you will need to refer others to the MLM company you are with. You will earn a commission from each of your referrals and from each of their referrals too, usually a few levels down. If you start your own MLM program, it will be your own business. It isn’t a job where you will get a fixed salary. The amount of money that you make will be directly proportional to the work you put in. Just like any business it is totally dependant on YOU.

This goes back to the point that there are scams about the place. If you get a good reputable company/program then there is little reason to think that it wont be reliable. To make sure that you get involved with a good company, you should only consider those ones which have been around for a while (at least a year - preferably longer). This sway you have proof that the MLM company in question is safe, reliable and is worth your time.

Like all things in the world of business and money there are those that do things legally and illegally. MLM is just another avenue through which one can build a business. Some will adhere to certain business practices that are legal and others will not. Make sure (through thorough research) that the one you chose sticks to the laws. I’m not here to pass judgment but if you want to have any kind of long term business then you would be wise to find the strictly legit companies.

There are many MLM companies. They will all differ in some way. One of the ways they differ is the costs involved in building the business. Some range from around $50 (US) to $2,500 (US) or even more! There are programs too that are free to start. They use the same fundamental system as MLMs but don’t cost large sums of money to build.

It’s hard to choose a “best” MLM company. They will likely all have some pros and some cons. You need to decide which one suits you the best. You should make sure that the one you choose has certain fundamental things however. Like solid support which is swift in it’s response to any need you may have, easy to follow instructions, the program must be easily duplicated by those you refer to the program and the pay plan should be as lucrative as possible for all involved.
