Buy the right size Yes, babies do grow exceptionally quickly compared to adults ... but buying your baby clothes two sizes too large isn’t necessarily 'good value'! By the time they look good and fit well on your baby, they're usually worn out and very faded. It's better policy to simply buy the right size, but not to have excessive numbers of baby clothes. 2. You can buy shoes for warmth from around 4 months, but make sure that babies learning to walk have soft-soled shoes to help with development of balance. 7. Appliques Be aware of appliqués on both little girls and boys baby clothes - if they aren't securely fastened they can become a choking hazard. Check them every time the baby clothes are washed. 8. Seams Baby clothes' seams that are especially itchy or stiff might annoy your baby ... causing more crying. Given that you probably have a lifetime supply of crying by now, it pays to check seams! 9. Lace, ruffles and wool All of these items on baby clothes can end up itching your child, causing much the same effect as the stiff seams do. Keep your child's clothes soft and simple, at least til they can communicate when something is bothering them. 10.
