10 Travel Essentials You Can't Do Without

No matter whether you're an experienced traveller, or travelling with children for the first time, you'll want to make it as easy and stress free as possible. Here's what you'll need with you if you're travelling.

1. You'll want to make sure that you've got your passport and tickets well in advance. It’s a good idea to check your passport is still in date, as some countries require to be valid for several months.

2. Depending on where you're going to, you might need a visa or other paperwork. Getting this organised well in advance will mean that you're not rushing at the last minute, and depending on the postal service.

3. You'll also need some currency. Perhaps you'll buy yours well in advance, or maybe you'll leave it much later. You might choose to do it at the airport, or even after you arrive. It's a good idea to have some local currency on you, so that you can get a drink or something to eat, or perhaps a taxi to your hotel, without needing to find a bank first.

4. Remember your electrical gadgets and chargers. Make sure that you've got memory cases, straps, leads and the other vital accessories you'll need.

5. You might want to take a computer with you. If you're going to be keeping a blog or record of your journey, or just want to be able to upload your holiday photos to your favourite social networking site, you might not want to have to find an internet café or use a public computer in your hotel.

6. You'll want to make sure that you've got your phone with you. Perhaps you'll only use of emergencies whilst you're there, or maybe you're travelling on business and will need it all day everyday for work,

7. Decent luggage is a good idea, especially if you travel often. Cheap or basic luggage really can be a false economy. Plenty of padding and secure locks are likely to mean that your suitcase lasts the journey.

8. If you're driving to the airport, then you'll want to make sure that you book your car parking in advance. As well as saving you money, you'll also save time, as you won't have to look for a parking space when you arrive at the airport.

9. You might want to arrange a hire car before you travel too, as well as have some idea of what you want to do there, so that you're not trying to book a car or excursions when you arrive.

10. It's a good idea to keep a list of everything you need to do, and pack your cases well in advance, so that you've got everything. If you’re a frequent flyer, or often have to go somewhere at a moments notice, why not keep a bag packed so that you know you've got everything?

Now you know what you need to do before you go, you'll have everything with you to have a fantastic time when you next travel.
