10 Ways To Plan A Perfect Summer Picnic
1.Bring lots of water If you are planning a summer picnic, remember that staying hydrated is going to be quite important. Limit the amount of soda that you bring in and stick with large gallons of water. One great tip is to freeze water bottles and to use them to pack your cooler; they can be a great cool drink when they melt. 2.Scout out the location ahead of time Are you going to have picnic tables to choose from, or are you going to need to bring some blankets? If you have never been to the location before, you'll find that it is quite important to look it over and see what is available. For instance, is there a grill? 3.Fresh fruits! When you are thinking about summer eating, there is something wonderfully delightful about eating fruit in season. Head to your local farmer's market before hand and see what's in season. A melon is a great choice and can be enjoyed by a lot of people. 4.Grill When you are heading to a place that has fire circles or grills for you to use, why not bring along something to use on it? Bring some foil along to spread on top of the grill and try doing some barbecuing. Meats are standard, but also consider roasting vegetables as well. 5.Pack well Too many people just dump ice into their cooler, put their food on top and call it good. The truth of the matter is that good packaging and the use of sealed freezer bags can keep the ice from making your meal soggy. Pack the desserts at the bottom and the appetizers at the top. 6.Sunscreen No matter how immune to sunburn you may think you are, it never hurts to be safe on this topic. Smear it on yourself and your kids and you won't have to worry about burns ruining your day. 7.Bring some guests One great way to have a lovely time is to invite some guests and make the event potluck. This is a great way to reconnect and to have a lot great food. 8.Watch the weather Before you leave, check out the sky, and go online to check out the weather report. Don't get rained out. 9.Medications If you or the kids have any sort of medication requirements, make sure that you bring them along. A good first aid kit is also a good idea; ideally, you'll never have to use it! 10.Food safety Summer picnics can get hot, so make sure that you don't need to worry about food spoiling. Be careful of keeping your meat cold enough, and watch out for things that contain eggs and mayonnaise.
