1) Watch every James Bond film – back to back

Classic films with legendary actors; the James Bond series of films have been loved for generations. Watching all 22 films, from 1962’s Dr No starring Sean Connery, to 2008’s Quantum of Solace with Daniel Craig, is like taking a trip through cinema history.

2) Write the story of your life

Whether you want to undertake an extensive autobiography of your life, or shorter memoirs, you are the best person to tell your life story. You can pass advice, knowledge and wisdom to those who read it. You may even be surprised with what you have achieved in your life.

3) Drive a steam train

Steam trains are somewhat vintage transport, though leisurely trips are certainly still available for those who like to travel in style. If you get the chance to drive a steam train you can see how one of these glorious machines really works.

Dare-devil stuff or just plain fun, abseiling from height is a great way to get an adrenaline rush.

This famous carnival/festival is celebrated all over the world. However, it originates in New Orleans and its most flamboyant, colourful celebrations happen in the US city.

You may or may not be the biggest fan of these buzzing insects, but bees to an important job pollinating flowers and making honey – which many people eat on a regular basis.

What better way to get around on a leisurely weekend than in your own classic motor vehicle. The best way to do this is to buy one cheaply and to restore it to its original standard, really making the car your own.

8) Become a wine connoisseur

There are so many amazing flavours of wine out there. Getting to try as many as you can is likely to turn you into a bit of a connoisseur, and people will always ask your opinion on what is best when you’re out to dinner.

9) Take a trip on a canal boat

Touring the country’s old waterways would certainly be a relaxing way to spend a weekend or longer. Hiring a boat is relatively easy and gives you complete freedom to explore where you please.

10) Have a day at the Races

There are races all over the country and they provide a great day out, even if you’re not into horses. Races are very social events, where you don’t need to have wads of cash to have a bit of a flutter and some fun.
