There are a few basic elements involved in setting up a website. You’re going to need a domain name (your site URL), a host, and in this case, a wordpress blog theme. With these 3 pieces, you’re just minutes from having your site go live so that you can offer your own premium content that will enable to you to create more traffic than you thought you were capable of. And the beauty is that you don’t have to pay some pricey programmer to do the work that you’re capable of. You can purchase everything you need for around $15/month. Here’s a quick breakdown of how to go about this simple setup. 1-Get a Domain Name- I recommend using godaddy.com. You can get a domain name here for no more than $8-9. So once you’ve decided what your domain is, go to this site and run through the quick setup and purchase process. 2- Get Hosting- I recommend using hostmonster.com to get hosting for your site. You can get what you need here for $6/month. The setup process is basically self-explanatory. Once you have your account setup with hostmonster.com, the only tool you’ll really need is Fantastico. This will allow you to choose free wordpress themes for your site. Simply chose the theme, download to your desktop and upload to hostmonster.com 3- Post Content and Protect It- Head over to your new site and get familiar with the setup screen. Don’t worry; it’s all labeled very clearly. Click the tab “new page” and this will allow you to create a new page inside you site. Add your content, scroll to the bottom and protect the site by choosing the “protect” tab (just make up your own password there). Publish the page and you’re done!
