123 Steps To Making A Diaper Cake
Diaper cakes are very easy to make! Simply, follow the easy steps that follow: Ingredients 60 or more Diapers--Depending on how large or small you want the cake--Disposable or Cloth, White or Patterned ½ or 1 Inch Wide Ribbon & ¼ Inch Ribbon--Patterned to fit the unique baby shower theme. The most popular choices are pink, yellow, and blue. 40-60 Small Rubber Bands--Depending on how large or small you want the cake 6-10 Large Rubber Bands One 8-oz Baby Bottle or One Large Bottle of Baby Lotion or One Large Bottle of Baby Oil One 4-oz Baby Bottle 1 Plastic Cake Platter Cake Decorations--Baby Confetti, Baby Sock Roses, Artificial Roses, etc. Baby Items--Bottles, Pacifiers, Bibs, Lotion, Blankets, Small Stuffed Animals, Baby Towels, Wash Cloths, Onesies, Baby Powder, Rattles, Toys, etc. Instructions First Tier You will need about 35-40 Newborn or Stage 1 diapers. Unfold 15-20 diapers. Add 1 at a time. Roll up the diapers, one by one, starting from the front of the diaper and rolling to the back.--the tighter the better. Place a rubber band around the center of each rolled diaper. Place the 8-oz baby bottle or bottle of lotion or oil in the center. Place approximately 5-10 diapers around the bottle. Put a large rubber band around the full ring of diapers. Form the 2nd ring with the remaining 10-15 diapers by them around the 1st ring of diapers. Complete it by placing a large rubber band around the 2nd ring. For the final ring of diapers for the 1st tier, take 15-25 diapers, unfold each one, and roll them up tight as before, only instead of a rubber band around each one, tie a skinny, ¼ inch piece of ribbon around the middle of each one. Place these around the 2nd ring in order to produce a 3rd ring. Now, take a large, ½ to 1 inch wide ribbon and tie around the entire tier to grasp them all in a circular shape. Second Tier This is made pretty much same as the first tier, only you have two (2) rings instead of three (3). Third Tier For risk of complications, it may be easier to assemble the 3rd tier on a table or floor and then place it on top of the rest of the cake after assembling. Place the 4-oz baby bottle on the floor or table. Take 5-10 diapers. Roll them up as the others were done. Tie these diapers with a thin ribbon. Place these diapers around the 4-oz baby bottle and tie your wide ribbon around it to hold it together tightly in the shape of the bottle. Place the final tier on top of the diaper cake. Trimmings Add the baby items onto the diaper cake. And, finally, you have a diaper cake as a unique baby shower gift.
