1. If you know you are going to be late, take a moment to devise a solid excuse. 2. Don't let the customer tell you what he needs, remember, you are the expert. 3. Pitch them what you've got, not what they're asking for, it's more efficient. 4. If it's inconvenient to do what you have promised, fob them off with an excuse, everybody else does. 5. Tell them it's not your fault the product doesn't do what they need, they should have been more specific. 6. Don't let customers interrupt your chat with your buddy. Haven't they got the politeness to wait a couple of minutes? 7. Get a book on 'closing techniques' use live customers for practice. 8. Save time, with a pressure strategy, 'This is the last one we've got before the price rise. Do you wannit?' 9. Don't let your head become cluttered with product knowledge - think commission. 10. If they can't buy now, tell them to come back when they can make a decision. 11. No need to say, 'Thanks for the order' - they should be grateful you have what they wanted. 12. If they start complaining point out that nobody had a problem before. 13. Anybody in your company starts telling you they don't like the way you treat customers, remind them just how long you've been doing this job.
