1970s Toys Were So Much Fun!

Ever thought back to the wonderful 1970s and remembered all the toys that you used to play with?
I know that I have. There were some fantastic toys during that era. Why don’t we take a trip down memory lane and I'll remind you of a few of them.

WACKY TOYS:

SLIME - A green mucus like substance that used to geteverywhere -
yuck - green goo!

SHRINKY DINKS - These were fun - cut them up, color them in, put them in the oven and watch them shrink.

SILLY PUTTY - Weird stuff - bounce it, snap it, stretch it. You could also use it to copy pictures from the newspaper!

OUTDOOR TOYS:

SPACE HOPPER - A big orange inflatable ball with a manic grin and horns for handles. I remember bouncing around on one of these!

HACKYSACK - How many Keepsie-upsies can you do? A little cloth ball that you kicked around with friends

TETHERBALL - A ball, a rope, and a stick. You could play this one for hours.

ELECTRONIC TOYS:

SIMON - The ultimate game of the 70s. An electronic noise making,
memory game.

ETCH-A-SKETCH - Dial them dials and create groovy pictures!

TIN CAN ALLEY - Crazy shoot them up. Aim the gun, fire and watch the cans jump up.

BOARD GAMES:

CLUE - Remember Mrs Scarlet in the Kitchen with the Candlestick?

OPERATION - I tickled his funny bone! Great medical malarkey!

MOUSETRAP - Amazing design, don’t get caught in the mousetrap though!

These are just a few of the toys that I remember playing with as a child. They really were great fun. What's surprising is that most of them are still commercially available and make great presents for
children and also for adults that grew up during the 70s. What could be better than receiving a present that you remember fondly from childhood?
