2 Ways To Successfully Deal With Ingrown Hairs

Ingrown hairs is something that both men and women suffer from, and it can be a really annoying problem. It is basically caused by hairs bending round and growing underneath the skin, rather than outside of the skin. However despite being unsightly and sometimes painful, it can be cured quite easily.

Let me first of all explain what you shouldn't do to remedy this problem. The worse thing you can do is to get a drawing pin, for example, pierce the skin and try to force the hair up to the surface of the skin yourself. This will damage the skin, make it bleed, and leave it looking just as bad as the ingrown hair.

If you do happen to do this you should at least shave or cut the actual hair so it will continue to grow outside of the skin in the future. A lot of people reach for the tweezers and pluck it out, or pull it out themselves. However this is no good because the hair will usually continue to grow underneath the skin when it grows back.

The best solution for ingrown hairs, for men at least, is simply to let the hair grow relatively long and shave it short rather than give yourself a close shave. I myself used to suffer from ingrown hairs on my neck all the time, but I now have the George Michael-esque designer stubble look. So because I never have a close shave, the hairs on my face and neck are always outside of the skin at all times. So I obviously don't suffer from this problem any more.

Another solution, which will benefit women in particular, as well as men who like to shave regularly, is to use some kind of solution on the affected area. These vary in quality of course, but the best ones will help to draw the hair to the surface of the skin, and eventually out of the skin so you can shave it normally. All you do is apply the liquid to the area of the ingrown hairs once or twice a day, or whenever you happen to shave.

So you shouldn't get too upset about the problem of ingrown hairs because there are solutions. You can either grow your hair and cut it very short rather than shave it closely, or you can use a liquid solution to help bring the hairs to the surface of the skin.
