2009 Kia Borrego Review
Trims This midsize SUV is offered in LX and EX trims. The rear wheel drive LX V6 models are featured with 17-inch alloy wheels, integrated tow hitch, roof rails, back-up warning system, cruise control, air-conditioning, full range of power accessories, telescoping/tilt steering column, auxiliary jack, satellite radio, USB port, and 6-speaker audio system with MP3/CD player. The trim EX V6 gains heated outside mirrors, fog lights, 4-way power passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls as well as 8-way power driver seat. Power-Train Specs Two engine choices are available for 2009 Kia Borrego- 3.8L V6 for 276 hp and torsion of about 267 lb-ft, while 4.6L V8 engine makes 337 horsepower and 323 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are available with full-time 4-wheel or rear-wheel drive systems. Optional Goodies Now, considering the optional packages, LX adds power driver seat, leather seating, memory function for the driver seat, rear air-conditioning controls, and heated front seats. Additional options for the EX trim include voice-activated navigation, rear back-up camera, 10-speaker Infinity audio system as well as DVD entertainment system. Looking at the fuel mileage, the new Borrego provides 17mpg in city, and 21 mpg on the highways. On the whole, it’s a good buy, but there are much better options in the segment, if you’re willing to shell out about $4-5k more. If you’re looking to buy a used 2009 Borrego, pricing would start from $19k, and it may vary depending upon the mileage of the vehicle, and the additional accessories on the offer, as a part of the deal.
