2009 Ncaa Football Odds – Coolest Team Coaches

For a college football betting player, the "cool" factor for a coach may not be the first thing you think of before you head to your offshore sportsbook. Simply because he’s not in the other corner.

Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State

Players would run through a wall for this guy, because he'd do the same for them. Who can forget 2007's explosion when he attacked a reported who wrote a negative (and erroneous, depending on who you talk to) article on one of his players. His "I'm a man, I'm 40, come after me!" rant is something that will live on forever. Hopefully, his coolness will transfer onto the field, as the Cowboys are one of the sleepers to watch for in your offshore sportsbook.

Pete Carroll, USC

The dude is 57, yet still looks like he's in his mid-30s. Carroll leads one of the most successful programs in college football history, and most betting software will recommend that you pick the Trojans to win the Pac-10, which they've taken a share of for seven straight years. He may be cool and collected, but he rules the program with an iron fist, and the Trojans keep on winning.

Chris Peterson, Boise State

If he's half as spontaneous as his play-calling, Peterson would be a hoot to hang out with. In his first year as a head coach at Boise State, he masterminded the brilliant Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma with a myriad of trick plays that had the Sooners going every which way. He continues a winning tradition with the Broncos, who have the highest winning percentage of any Division One program over the last 10 years. They're getting some national love too, as the Broncos open up the season with a televised game against Oregon which has every sports betting blog buzzing.

Bobby Bowden, Florida State / Joe Paterno, Penn State

We couldn't decide between the two coaches with the most wins in NCAA history. Look at the numbers: 76 years of combined experience at their respective schools, 765 wins (Paterno leads Bowden by a single win, 383-382), four national titles, and an insane amount of bowl wins. What makes them even cooler is that there's no end in sight, as both are back to coach top-20 programs. We'd just like to hang out with them to hear the millions of stories they have about the plethora of NFL picks they've helped along the way.
