2009 Nissan Murano Earns Insurance Institute For Highway Safety (iihs) Top Safety Pick Award

Recent polls reveal that opinions have changed and people do not believe an SUV is a safety car. Lucky for Murano owners, they can feel very safe in their SUV.

The 2009 Nissan Murano earns the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick Award. The IIHS just completed their long running series of crash tests of new vehicles including nine different mid-sized SUVs and CUVS. The IIHS does front, rear and side impact testing on each of the vehicles and in the latest batch of tests, the Nissan Murano was the only to receive the Top Safety Pick award. The second generation Nissan Murano scored the coveted award for getting good ratings in all crash tests as well as having electronic stability control.

Nissan is continuing development of new Muranos and there is a lot of active rumors that in 2009 – 2010 they will introduce Nissan Murano convertible.
