1. Helmets

You should always wear a helmet while you are riding your bike. While a helmet will not prevent you from getting hit while you are riding a bike, it will offer some protection to your head. Make sure that you purchase a helmet that will fit your head. If your helmet does not fit properly, you might as well not be wearing it because it will offer no protection.

2. Horns

Most people don't think about installing a horn on their bike. If a car cuts in front of you or if you need to get the attention of a bystander that is in front of you, a horn comes in handy. 3. Mirrors

Unfortunately, most bikes don't come with mirrors. All bikes should have mirrors because they allow you to see what is in back of you. Especially if you are listening to music, you don't know if you are being chased or if a car is driving off of the road, so a mirror is an essential piece of bike safety equipment.
