3-d Tvs Will Soon Be In Your Living Room
TV Sports are going to offer something that has only been seen on a small scale, but now 3-D TV's are moving big time into the sports scene. Comcast will be offering coverage of the Masters, letting you get eyeball to eyeball with Tiger. Heck, you may have heard that one of his mistresses is supposed to be there with a bull horn. I don't know if that's true or was generated to have more people check out this event. The 3-D that's going to be offered is going to be different than what you may have seen watching bugs coming at you at the movies. This is supposed to give you a close and personal look at the dimples of the ball, and the intense color of the flags. Why 3-D at the Masters? They are expecting over 18 million people to watch Tiger Woods, as he makes his first appearance since his little fender bender. Big time sports outlets are excited to see what potential 3-D Broadcasts can do for their industry, as this gives them the opportunity to pick up free advertising for this event. Why 3-D? The picture clarity is incredible. It's actually a bigger leap than what we went through when we moved from regular to HD. Millions of people have seen Avatar or the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland already in 3-D and Shrek is supposed to be another 3-D epic. Now even though 3-D movies have been very popular at the theater, (They generated more than $1 billion at box offices worldwide this year), 3-D TV's won't make a big splash if they are limited to the movies that are 3-D. The Manufacturers know that the millions of Sports Fans in this country will be the big target. Why? They know that no matter how much trouble you got in with your wife when you bought that HD Flat screen, you're going to want to donate it to the Salvation Army once you see sports in 3-D. Last year was the inauguration of 3-D Sports. Within the next few years, most of us will watch our sports in 3-D, and many will no longer attend the game. The 3-D technology is being rolled out by Panasonic, Sony, and others, but they've been blindsided by Samsung. Samsung rolled out the 7000. It's a good TV, and it can upgrade the hdmi 1.3 signal to 3D. The main complaint is that the technology on this TV puts "clouds" on the screen as you're watching the shows. Samsung cleaned up that problem with the 8000, which not only cleared up the cloud issue, it's also a better looking piece of equipment. The 8000 gives 55" of vewing screen, stands almost 33 inchs high, is lighter than the 7000, coming in at 53 pounds, versus 67 pounds for the 7000. One of the many applications that Samsung offers is "Pandora". The advantage of this app is that you can actually listen to music through the Samsung without any commercials. You can also connect a USB hard drive and play your music, show pictures, and movies directly. You can easily browse the USB hard drive simply by using the remote. You can also have access to BLOCKBUSTER, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, and you can get movies on demand from Amazon, and have access to over 50,000 movies and TV shows. Some of my favorites that they offer are Family Guy, The Simpsons, How I met your mother, Two and a Half Men, and others. I happen use Skype for my phone calls and I love it. You'll love it too AND the 8000 offers the ability for you to do video calls straight from your TV! By the way, I just learned that you can do games on it too. You don't want your kids to know this, but Xbox will be coming out with 3-D games, so you may be dropping a few extra dollars on these games. This 3-D TV is giving us a glimpse in the future!
