3 Day Speech Course For Stuttering

There are now various forms of speech therapy course for stuttering, in this article I will be writing about the three day intensive courses that are available for people who have this form of speech impediment.

Now I am not writing about your typical course which are run by a speech and language therapist. The majority of people who have a stutter are fully aware that speech and language therapy is unable to help them to achieve fluency. During the fourteen years that I attended speech therapy classes and speech therapy courses that were conducted by my local speech and language therapists my own stutter actually became even more severe. I am not blaming the fact that my speech problem became worse on these speech therapists however I had hoped that my speech and my fluency would have improved. I did attend numerous forms of speech therapy for fourteen years after all!

The speech courses that I am concentrating on for this article are the ones that are run by people who have some personal experience of stuttering, people who have previously had this form of speech impediment and who have actually managed to eradicate it from their speech and their lives. The courses are therefore much more specialised than that of the ones offered by your typical speech and language therapist.

The fact that the speech coaches who run these intensive three-day speech courses have previously had a stutter make these type of courses much sought after. During the three days the person attending the course will hear, first hand, just what it takes to be able to achieve fluency. They are taught a set of stuttering therapy techniques, techniques which when practiced will provide them with the answers and solutions to their speech problems.

At the end of the course the course attendee returns back to their home but that is not where the coaching ends as they are encouraged to keep in regular contact with the speech coach to ensure that the fluency continues. This continued support is available for as long as is required and is an essential part of this popular stuttering course.
