3 Good Beginner Instruments For Kids

There are many different instruments that are available for kids to play. Some of them are easier to learn than others. Most schools these days offer both an orchestra and band that your child can join. Being able to play a musical instrument is a great skill for kids to have, so consider enrolling them in orchestra and/or band at an early age. 1. Violin

You are probably thinking to yourself that the violin is difficult to learn to play. However, the violin is actually one of the easiest musical instruments for children to learn. The violin is considered to be a string device and most kids that are 6 years or older should have no problem learning how to play it. Violins come in many different sizes, which means you may have to purchase a new one as your child ages. When you are purchasing a violin for your kid, make sure that you purchase a non-electric one, as they are easier to learn how to play.

2. Flute

The flute is in the woodwind family and is one of the most popular musical instruments amongst children. Many years ago, most people viewed the flute a device only played by women. However, that is no longer the case. Jethro Tull, one of the most famous rock bands in the world, featured several male performers that could play the flute, which made it a popular tool for men, as well. Not only is the flute very affordable, but given its small size, it is very easy for children to transport. Children should have no problem learning how to play the flute once they have mastered the art of blowing into it. If your children is interested in learning about the sounds that a flute can produce, you can teach him how to blow into a plastic bottle to replicate similar sounds.

3. Trumpet

The trumpet is generally recommended for children that are 10 years or older. However, this brass instrument is actually relatively easy to learn how to play. If you have ever seen one before, you would know that it only has three buttons to push. Learning how to press the buttons to produce different notes is the easiest aspect of learning how to play this tool. The trumpet is similar to the flute in that children must first learn how to blow into it. With a flute, you need to make a "mmm" noise when blowing into it, but a trumpet requires that you make a buzzing noise with your lips. The great thing about learning how to play this device is the fact that your child will be able to participate in concert band, marching band and jazz band.
