We've all heard it before. Cover up, stay out of the sun and wear protective clothing but this can easily fly out of the window when you have fun on the beach. Without using any scare tactics, you should know that any time you are exposed to direct sunlight your skin is exposed to the harsh rays of the sun. In summer it gets much more severe and the threat almost doubles when the sun is that strong. Apart from premature aging, the sun can do a lot of damage to our skin. In many cases the damage can only be seen years down the line. Many people that spent a lot of time in the sun as youngsters have skin that ages prematurely or even have melanomas as a result of it. Here are 3 very easy tips to help you stay safe this summer: 1. Protect Moles and Skin Tags When skin tags and particularly moles get exposed to the sun you put your skin in danger. Moles can become cancerous quite easily and anytime you expose them to the sun the danger increases. If you have moles that are constantly exposed to the sun you may want to consider getting them removed. Also, whenever you notice or feel any changes to a mole or a skin tag you should get it checked out immediately. Moles, skin tags and the sun are not friends. 2. Avoid The Midday Sun Enjoying summer is one of life's great gifts - especially if you are privileged enough to live by the sea. Hiding from the sun is no way to enjoy this. To be safe you don't need to avoid the sun altogether. What you should do though is to make every effort to stay out of the sun between 12 and 2 since the sun is at its most dangerous during this time. 3. Hydrate When its warm we tend to sweat a lot. Drinking a lot of water is vital during summer to ensure that you stay hydrates. Water is the most important component of a healthy skin.
