3 Important Things Missing From "the Secret" About The Law Of Attraction
It made public what many religions and spiritual doctrines knew for millennia: that you attract what you think about. Upon learning this, the public went wild! Finally, a CONCRETE method to attract for themselves anything they want, from a nice shiny sports car, to the perfect mate, to their dream job, to lots of money, etc, etc, etc. Yet, soon, their excitement turned to frustration, and from frustration it turned to cynicism. And from cynicism people turned into non-believers, thinking the whole thing a hoax. Why? Because they failed at manifesting abundance with the info they got from watching the movie "The Secret". However, the reason they failed because the movie was missing KEY components that were crucial to know for manifesting abundance with the Law of Attraction. How to take inspired action After watching The Secret, one was left with the impression that all you have to do is sit and imagine what you desire and they will magically fall onto your lap. WRONG! You have to also play your part while the Universe plays its part by taking action towards you goals. However, this is where most people go wrong. They take the wrong type of action. They take action that's based on fear that they're not going to get what they want from the Universe In their mind they think that it's all up to them. To attract the things you desire your action must be based on inspiration. You must let go and trust that the Universe is bringing you what you desire. Once you're able to trust, you will then be open to receive the inspiration to take the right type of action towards your goal. You will just instinctively know what to do. 2. You get what you have NOT what you want. The Secret never made the important distinction between having and wanting. Most people communicate to the Universe that they want this or that they want that. However, when you communicate that you want something, you're communicate to the Universe that you LACK that thing you want, and guess what? The Universe give that very thing back to you: more lack. To attract what you desire, you imagine in your mind's eye that you already have everything you desire. Once you're able to do that, you will attract that very thing in your life. This is a key to manifesting abundance: you get more of what you already have. 3. You cannot attract above your beliefs. The Secret totally glossed over the fact that the reason why the Law of Attraction didn't work for many of its viewers is because they weren't aware of the programming they have from the past, most likely childhood that sabotaged their efforts. Many people have beliefs from childhood that money is evil, or that rich people or bad, or that they don't deserve success, or that if they become rich nobody will like them, etc. Their subconscious beliefs are sabotaging what they consciously desire for themselves and they have no clue. Until, they identify what these beliefs are and change them by telling themselves a different story, they will continue to fail at manifesting abundance. Many people have failed at manifesting abundance after watching the movie, "The Secret", because truly, the movie gave a very, very elementary explanation of the reality creation.
