3 Simple Ways To Reduce Stress

Stress can have a devastating impact on lives when it gets too much. There are two types of stress in your life, good stress and bad stress. Good stress is known as eustress; it is beneficial to you, it puts some pressure on you and helps you get things. It's only when you get too much of the bad stress (distress) does it affect your life negatively.

Stress is a real health concern as it can cause you to feel sick and can lead to diseases, it can even kill you. Many diseases start in the mind and are caused by high stress levels. Stress uses up certain chemicals in the body such as cortisol and this is what leads to all the unpleasant side effects such as lack of sleep, worrying about everything and the feeling of general malaise.
However there are many simple things you can do right at your own home that will greatly reduce these bad levels of stress in your life.

Step One:

Go outdoors in the sun and get some exercise. It doesn't matter if it's just going for a walk alone or with the dog, or playing a sport. Exercise has tremendous health benefits and is proven to help reduce stress. Besides helping to reduce stress exercise has a tremendous number of other health benefits too and will help you live longer.

Step Two:

Try some relaxation exercises. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for about half an hour. Sit in a chair, dim the lights and just listen to some relaxing music or anything that works to help you relax. Just taking this 'time out' from life by relaxing will make you feel a lot better and you will notice by doing this for a week or so your stress levels will be far lower and you will feel a lot healthier and happier.
Also when you are in a relaxed state your mind is at its most heightened state of imagining, so this means that you may have some other great ideas to reduce stress too.

Step Three:

Get enough sleep! I cannot stress how important sleep is for the human body and mind. If you are just barely getting enough sleep and waking up feeling tired your body is trying to tell you something, and you shouldn't ignore it. Get enough sleep a night so you wake up feeling good and refreshed this is your body telling you that you are getting enough sleep. Often the stress will just disappear when you get enough sleep. Being sleep deprived only makes stress worse. So do yourself a favor and get more sleep.

By following these three simple steps you will be able to reduce the level of stress in your life so you will feel good and healthy again, like you should.
