3 Steps To Potty Training

One of the great milestones you can look forward to as a parent is when your little one is ready to potty train. You won’t have to worry about messy diapers anymore, and your child will develop a new sense of independence. The question is, how do you know when your toddler is ready to potty train and what steps do you need to take for his success? It’s not as hard as it sounds and you can find what you need to get started at stores like Baby Universe and Baby Catalog. Here are three steps to potty training:

Step 1: Watch for Signs

The first step to potty training is to pay attention to your little one’s clues. She might start to take off her diaper or tell you when she has soiled her diaper. She might start to show signs of being uncomfortable in diapers. She may also start to take great notice when you use the bathroom and show an increased interest in the toilet.

Step 2: Get the Right Supplies

In order to encourage your child's potty training success, you will need to have a pint sized potty chair available and some training pants as well. Buy some potty training books for your child to read on the potty too.

Step 3: Practice

You can expect some accidents at first, but you can avoid too many slips by watching for your child's regular clues and taking her to sit on the potty each hour or so.
