3 Things You Don’t Know About Taking Care Of Your Leather Shoes

Yes you have just got this brand new shiny leather shoes and you are so elated about it that you put it beside you on the bed last night as if it were your new baby. And after you have worn it for like five to six times you just forget about it and you don’t care for it any longer. Let us be sincere to ourselves here-is that a good thing to do? Why can’t we take care of our leather shoes like we do to our cars and other things we cherish even if the shoes are not expensive?

Taking care of our leather shoes is not just about making the shoes look good although that is enough a reason but it’s about preserving and giving it a longer life. After all if we put it in good condition it will be to our advantage and it will save us more money-thank God we are getting over the economic recession.

But why do we have to give our leather shoes attention? Because there is a reason to, if leathers are not properly kept in good condition they often fissure and wear out. You will agree that when they are worn out and look ragged we won’t be able to wear them out anymore. Fact is many people believe that as long as they keep on polishing their shoes with wax then things are fine with it. But they are wrong.

Now to the point, giving good care to your shoes can take various ways. For those that are rich shoes repair shops will come in handy. These shoe repair shops will charge a fee for the conditioners and other things to use on it.

Conversely, if you want to take care of them yourself then you will need to follow some few steps I will list below provided you have these items: Gloves, Newspapers, Rags, Smooth Leathers Cleaners, Leather Conditioners and A Shoe Polish.

Now follow these steps:

1. Remove the dirt on it by cleaning the leather shoes with smooth leather cleaners you bought. Know that some leather cleaners’ maybe in creams, liquids and sprays but just use them as it applies to the shoe. You may use brush to remove dirt.

2. After cleaning, wait for some minutes so the shoes can get dried-you can use a soft cloth to rub it. After this, apply leather conditioners. This will make the shoes to be soft and also moisturizes the leather. Remember here that specific leather conditioners are made for different types of shoes so use the appropriate for the shoe in question.

3. The final part is now applying the shoe polish. This will make the shoe look new and shiny. But the caution here is polish contain some chemicals that can be absolved through the skin so I would rather you use gloves while polishing shoes.

That should be all. You can now enjoy your leather shoes.
