3 Things You Should Consider When Managing Multiple Email Accounts

"More and more children have cellular phones and each year these kid consumers tend to get younger and younger. Even though you may feel more at ease allowing your child or teen to have a mobile, because you feel safer knowing that they can contact you or vice versa, you still may have concerns regarding their actual cellphone use.

As much as most parents would like to imagine that their kids will only use their phones when necessary, the reality is that they will use them for entertainment purposes, as well as chatting and texting with friends. Since you will likely only have so much control over how your son or daughter uses their device, you need to make sure they are aware of how to keep their phone privacy secure. This isn’t only a matter of making it clear that they shouldn’t give their number out to just anyone, but also how to be safe when texting.

The following are the three things that should be made known to your children to ensure safe text messaging. Note: wireless safety for kids should always include providing them with the caller ID feature, as being able to identify who is calling is key in keeping them protected.

1 – Don’t answer texts from people you don’t know. Just like when you receive a telephone call, a text message will carry the person’s ten-digit-number. Teach your teenager that if they don’t know who has sent the text, they shouldn’t respond. This is not only a waste of money but they don’t want to begin a correspondence with someone who could be potentially dangerous.

2 - Don’t message someone if you don’t want them to have your phone number. Some adolescents enjoy playing pranks but the joke will be on them if the recipient obtains their data. Make it clear to them that when they use SMS they are not anonymous.

3 – Anytime they come across an unknown phone-number they don’t recognize, they should bring this to your attention and together you can run a cell phone search on the numerals to see if you can find out who they belong to.
