3 Ways To Easily Keep In Touch With Family Across The Miles

Gone are the days of taking pictures, getting them developed, writing letters, and then mailing it all to keep in touch with family and friends. With so much technology available to us, it is easier than ever to share special moments with family, even if they live thousands of miles away.

Here are three simple ways to keep in touch.

1. Post pictures and videos on line. There are a variety of services (both free and paid) that are available to anyone for posting pictures and videos on line. All you need is a computer and Internet access. Typically, there are options that let viewers order pictures on line. Some will even send an email to people you've added to a list to let them know that you've posted new photos.

2. Start a family blog. This is another potential free option for staying in touch. There are several services that will host your blog at no cost. Blogs are a great way to share your family stories and events as well as picture and videos or even a calendar of family events.

3. Buy web cams. Lots of computers sold today actually come with web cams installed. However, they are fairly inexpensive to buy if you or a family member doesn't have one. Web cams let you see and talk to each other in real time. It's as simple as a phone call, but feels a bit more like a visit.

It is becoming more and more common to have family spread across the country or even all over the world. These are just a few simple ways to keep in touch with family and make the world a little smaller.
