The normal way to make money using this method is to build a website, get free traffic flowing to it, and add ads to your site. It is possible to get a very steady income that you can count on this way. The basis of affiliate marketing is that by selling other peoples products they will give you a commission on the sale. There are many ways to drive traffic for this method, however my favorite is by writing articles. You can include a link or two at the end of every article and gain traffic that way! You also need to use keywords correctly. This means research them with tools such as the one by Google, market samurai, or keyword country. Also remember to SEO optimize your articles! That helps them give you traffic for more than a few days! I also like to use Pay Per Click (or PPC) to drive traffic. The best ways to buy traffic are from search engines as you can get the most targeted traffic! This means more sales and better conversions. One such program is Google Adwords.. I do not use that one because of it's high prices. It is hard to turn a profit on google however you can do it. I would rather use Yahoo's advertising network or Bing's advertising network.
