3d Smartphones - The Wave Of The Future Or Just A Gimmick
The beginning of 3D technology and how it works on a smartphone The 3D technology began in the 18th and 19th century with efforts of 3D films going back as early as 1915. Even then 3D technology didn't really catch on until about the year 2,000 and later with 3D movie titles such as the ever so popular Avatar, Beowulf and more. Today 3D technology is with us almost everywhere we go. We see it on our personal gaming systems at home, 3D televisions, and all the way to the big screen where we're given the choice to see select movie titles in 3D or standard 2D. Three dimensional technology is now getting even more personal, and portable with recent releases of 3D smartphones. These new 3D smartphones don't even require users to ware glasses, instead users receive there 3D effects through "parallax barrier technology" which is placed on the display of the smartphone but still in the unit itself. This parallax barrier partially blocks light at certain angles which creates a disparity between images seen between each eye. This type of three dimensional technology can only be observed at certain distances and angles, mainly just the user. What to expect on a 3D smartphone Not too many smartphone manufacturers have jumped on implementing 3D tech into there handsets yet. The LG Optimus 3D and the HTC EVO 3D are the main subjects for now, with many more manufacturers getting in on the game later. Not only do these smartphones carry 3D technology on board, but there much faster than your average smartphone as well. Implementing 3D tech with a super fast dual-core processing chip, 1080p 2D HD and 720p 3D HD video, these new handsets are sure to win over the crowd, or maybe not as many of us ask ourselves if this technology would even be useful on a smartphone. Smartphones will continue to evolve for better or worse with new technology and improved features. The three dimensional technology will probably continue to expand on to more personal devices such as personal computers and even watches. What does all this mean for the average consumer? It means that manufacturers will continue to jump on the next big thing to make a quick buck, whether it be smartphones or a new way to cut hair, but 3D smartphones just may be the next big thing.
