It also conditions the horse to avoid mistakes. But a trainer should limit the gravity of punishment to avoid giving the horse trauma. Some forms of light punishment can be imposed using signals such as an angry or raised voice. 4. Give rewards after a good and promising performance. To help encourage the horse maintain its good performance, rewards should likewise be given. Providing snacks such as carrot sticks or patting the horse at the back are some of the ways to give rewards. There are other things which the trainer can do in order to gain positive results during training. Aside from knowing which technique is best, patience and love for horses are the sure fire way to succeed in training horses.
