You know, if you are going to make money online, you have to target a niche market. In fact, it is niche marketing that only works in the internet. You are just an individual and you don’t have big capital to compete with huge companies like Amazon, ebay, Dell, etc. And that is why niche marketing works so well. This is because you just focus in a very small and targeted market; it makes you the expert in that field, then you can conquer that market.


Many starters do not know how to choose a market. They thought they should start from a product first. Most people will start with a product which they came across, feel good about it, and the promote it. This is the wrong route. You have to first identify your market, using these 4 critical criteria below…

Number one; choose a market where you have the most knowledge about. What is your profession? What you work as? What market you are currently in? For example, if you are working as a salesman who sells health products, then you can start with this market, simply because you already have the necessary knowledge about it. Think about it, if you don’t know anything about a market, you will have to learn from the ground, which is a lot of work.

Number two; choose a market where you have passion in. Many people underestimate this. I know that you want to make money online, but it is not necessarily must be the market you are passionate with. If you don’t have the love in doing something, you will lose the drive and motivation very fast, and you will give up sooner than you can imagine. In the opposite, if you are passionate in doing what you do, you will not lose the drive; your mind will operate from a different frame which put you to tap in the fullest potential. You will not feel tired doing it simply because you love to do it.

Number three; choose a market where the competition is low. Don’t go for high competition market, because you are going to compete with a lot of advertisers the moment you go into the marketing section. Think about it, take article marketing for example, if you submit one article, you will find that there are hundreds over people doing exactly the same thing just like you. What makes your business stands in front of others?

Number four; choose a medium size market. A medium size market is the best for everyone. For example, if you are targeting tennis in North America, then it will be too big. And if you are targeting only left-handed women who play tennis, then it will be too small. As you can see now, you need to take the market size into consideration as well when choosing a niche.
