4. Decor Your Home On Your Own With These 3 Simple Ideas

Are you planning to do interior of your home by yourself?
That's great. But for doing that effectively, you need to understand few basic things.
There are many more articles yet to come in this series.. I'll try to make this as easy as possible, for you.

We'll begin now with the most important aspects.

1. Design plan –THe first thing you must do is start with the Design Plan - that is what we do as interior designer & decorator. The first thing you must have is a detailed design plan.

The various components of your design plan should consists of –

a) One room out of all the rooms in your home you wnat to decor- First decide on which room in your home, you desire to work on. Don't make a mistake of starting with all rooms, dining room & kitchen & Bedroom.
But select only one - at least for the starters. Later on you can add or work simaltenously on many rooms..

b) List of changes-
Write in your design plan – the precise things you want to change. If you skip this, then later on it becomes sort of patched room.

c) The permissible budget –
I am sure you have already got good idea of this particular aspect. Fix the amount you can & want to spend. The more alterations, the more the investment required.

d) Your home layout-

On a blank sheet of paper, draw outline / layout of your home.Outline of your rooms must be clearly shown. You don't have to be perfect, but some proportion must be there.

Make shapes of the various pieces of furniture that you are already having.

Now with all these, you can start decorating. First take the cut pieces of furniture & place them in various positions on layout. See what you like most. Have fun with the ideas. Then decide on one.

Then start the alterations one by one. Good things in life are worth waiting for. But once it's completed, you'll enjoy your home even much more.
