4 Guidelines To Build A More Se Friendly Blog.
But as always, there is room for improvement. So how can we build a more search engine efficient blog? Here are the basic points you must cover: 1. Search Engine friendly Site Structure The first stage of search engine optimizing your blog is to facilitate access to its different parts both for readers and SE spiders. This is done by eliminating unnecessary clicks between the homepage and individual content webpages. Once you have visitors reading your content, be sure you keep them on the site for a prolonged period. You do this by referencing related posts on you blog with hyperlinks scattered across the text body. Plus, don't forget to install the "related posts" plugin so that they're exposed to additional info on the subject. Interconnecting all content page in one coherent network improves the overall ranking of your blog, as opposed to random optimized webpages with little authority of their own. Have your blog categorized around top money keywords. As it gains authority it will eventually rank for representative terms whether they're money keywords or subjects for great informational content that generates leads and prospects on an ongoing basis. However, be sure not to overlap the category pages with tag pages. For instance; if you tag something "dog training" don't include it on your "dog training" category. Keep your categories to a minimum but also compact and laser focused. 2. Link Out to Related Blogs and Build Backlinks Forget about the PageRank scarcity mentality and start referencing other blogs within your market. This helps build trust with Google and also builds recognition and further exposes your blog. The web revolves around interconnectivity and as a consequence isolated content islands that only receive link juice without putting it back on the market are resented by Google. And when linking out do so with dofollow links. Nofollow links, originally created to discourage spam, are presently disregarded by important SEs like Yahoo and MSN. To build links of your own, start with blog commenting, article submission and directory submissions. For some directories, in order to be accepted you have to pass some rigorous testing, but the smaller the acceptance ratio the more valuable the link you're creating. 3. Stay Away From Duplicate Content As with the development of a large number of SEO plugins that handle all the optimization for you with a push of button, on-site duplicate content has largely stopped being a problem, so your remaining blogging priorities are: 1) crafting good content on a regular basis and 2) promote it through extensive link building. Another problem poses content scrapers that swipe content out of your own site and post it on their usually mediocre websites built for Adsense advertising. To actually profit for being rubbed of content, use absolute links to reference past work on your blog. This way the links remain active when published on other domains and if indexed, the grow your link network. 4. Generate XML Sitemaps An XML sitemap is a list of URLs for all of your indexed pages and tag names that basically tells Google when your blog receives new content. This is a great asset compared to static websites where you have to wait in line until SEs visit it.
