In this fast-pacing world, often we don't have the chance to think about what we do and where we are going. We just do what we must do and try to do is as quickly as possible. Thinking about "abstract" things like life purpose is something that many people don't think is important. But that's not true. You should take time to find your purpose in life. In fact, I would say that you must take time to do that. Here are five reasons why it's essential to find your purpose:

1. It helps you live your own life

If you don't have a clear purpose, most likely you will only do what everyone else does. Instead of living your own life, you will just live by others' expectation. I don't know about you, but for me that's a terrible way to live. Your time is too valuable to be wasted on living someone else's life. Instead, you should find what you should be and live your own life.

2. It gives you direction

Continuing the previous point, not only your purpose helps you live your own life, it also gives you clear direction of where you should go in life. Without a purpose, you may be confused when you have to make decisions in your life. The reason is simple: you don't have a strong foundation upon which to make your decisions. Your purpose is the foundation you need. When you know your purpose, it will be much easier for you to know what you should do in certain situations. It will be easier for you make decisions - the right decisions.

3. It gives you motivation

In life there are always challenges and difficulties. The only way to overcome them is by having a larger strength inside of you. Your purpose gives you this strength that motivates you to go through all those challenges and difficulties. If you don't have a purpose, it will be easy for you to give up. But if you have purpose, you will be able to see further beyond the obstacles in front of you.

4. It gives you meaning

Having a fulfilling life is more important than just being wealthy or famous. There are many, many people who are rich and famous but they feel empty inside. What they need above all is meaning. People need to have meaning in whatever they do if they are to live a fulfilling life. Your purpose gives you the meaning you need. Without a purpose, whatever you do will just be activities and no more. But with a purpose, what you do is not just an activity; it's something that you do for a greater cause, a cause that matters to you.
