4 Simple Steps To Getting Your Articles Read
1.) The Headline The most important part of any article that you are going to write is the title or headline. The headline for your article is your reader’s first impression of you. It has to stand out and scream “LOOK AT ME”. Your headline needs to be something that will pique the interest of someone casually scanning through hundreds of articles. You may have written the greatest article in the world full of interesting ideas and concepts, but if the headline is lacking then your article will not be read. Great headlines lead to articles that get read, poor headlines lead to nothing. Your headline should contain a reference to main point you discuss within the article. If for instance your article is about how to beat an online video game in a couple hours you could use something like, “Game Winning Strategy – Game Over in 2 Hours.” Another good headline strategy is to use Top Lists. People seem to love this kind of thing. Using the above example you could break your article down into 10 steps and use “The Top 10 Steps to Game Over in 2 Hours” 2.) Useful, Informative Information Your article must contain information that is useful to a reader. The body of the article must be relevant to the title. Misleading someone into reading your article is not a way to earn trust and credibility. 3.) Grammar and Punctuation You are trying to portray yourself as an expert in the field that you are writing about. Grammatical errors and incorrect spelling will not do this. Rather it will cause you to appear as someone who does not really care and perhaps someone who is uneducated. 4.) Resource Box The resource box is a short description at the end of an article containing information about the author and a like to your website. Honestly the biggest reason that we all write articles is the resource box. Use third person when writing your resource box. Give the reader your name. Do not forget to do this like I did when I first started writing articles. Place this first in the resource box. Below your name include a valid URL to your website. Finally use two or three sentences to describe how both you and your product or website are unique. Finally, include a call to action. The resource box is the only way that you have to turn readers into visitors and perhaps subscribers on your website. It is important that you make the best use of it. Take the time to follow these 4 simple steps and get your articles read more often.
