I didn't consciously go out and go this, but I just did, and when I got around to doing the course again, not only had I NOT forgotten a single word, but the next 3 weeks of learning was a breeze! Start With a Knowledge Base Before you can think in Spanish, talk to your friends in Spanish or change your entertainment/electronics to Spanish, you need to know a fair amount of it to begin with. Buying a Spanish course will give you the building blocks, and all of the above will enable you to build a house.
