4 Ways You Save With Wimax In Las Vegas

As a smart consumer, you're always looking for ways to save money, especially if you have to live in a city such as Las Vegas. Even if you only end up saving a few dollars, eventually it all adds up to be a large sum of cash. When it comes to your internet connection, there are a variety of ways to save money as well. Contrary to what many people think, you don't have to dish out major cash for that cable or DSL connection. You can opt instead for a service such as WiMax internet. It's a newcomer on the internet connection scene, but it can save you money in the following ways.

1. You won't have to have cable or DSL internet service anymore. Often times when you sign up for those services, you're also forced to sign up for cable TV and phone service, respectively. Anyone who has ever dealt with signing up for cable TV can tell you that it's neither cheap nor convenient. With a good internet connection, you may not even use cable TV. What's a worse deal than paying for something you're not going to use? If you're going to use it a lot then it might be worth it. But if you sign up for a fast internet connection such as WiMax, you might discover that you can watch all your shows streaming through the internet instead. The connection will be fast enough to support that and you'll end up saving money in the end.

2. The internet service provided by WiMax is as cheap or cheaper than internet provided by cable or DSL. This one just takes a little bit of research to get the bottom of. Call your local provider or perform a Google search with your existing connection on the benefits of this new technology. You might be surprised to find out about the low rates offered by various companies that service your area.

3. If you like to get a “free” internet connection by going to your local coffee shop and using their internet, then you might be paying too much. The coffee itself is probably more expensive than the low monthly fees offered by some WiMax companies for their services. But there's also the gas money to consider, as well as the inconvenience factor. In this day and age, does it really make sense that you should have to drive across town and pay for over-priced coffee so you can get on the internet when there exists an extremely affordable wireless option that works throughout the city?

4. No more expensive home networking equipment. It seems like there are new 802.11 technologies coming out all the time. First there was 802.11b, then 802.11g, and now there's 802.11n. What's next? Maybe they'll go straight to 802.11z so they can be done with it. Joking aside, upgrading to each new level can end up being a costly affair. Not only do you have to buy a new router, you'll have to buy new network cards for each of your machines in order to realize the full benefit of the new standard. Even if you don't mind dishing out the cash, it's just inconvenient to have to upgrade. With WiMax, you won't have to worry about that anymore.
