4g Networks Revolutionize Technology

Technology is a great competitor. Every single day something new in the technology field is changing and being improved to outdo itself. From crisper ways to watch TV to a faster way to send a text message, even a more efficient social networking site launch; nothing in the modern world of technology remains constant. It should not come as a surprise then, that suddenly mobile broadband Internet brings the web to your cell phone and that it will soon be the norm for all cell phones.

The change in Internet technology is a well documented and successful change. Beginning way back in the 70s and 80s when computers were first invented, followed by the oldest way to connect to the Internet, dial up, the Internet is one of the most successful examples of evolving technology. Wireless Internet has made for the most significant changes in technology because it has made surfing the web easier than ever, allowing us instant interactions and connections, bringing information to our fingertips about virtually anything you need. In addition, it has brought us applications like Pandora and iTunes, helping us discover and legally listen to new music as it is released and also VoIP programs like Skype that allow us to call home from abroad, something that comes in handy for the student studying abroad, the backpacker trekking around the world or the CEO looking to hire someone from abroad or even just another state. These would never work with older Internet connections.

And as the connection gets faster, more and more people are changing the type of computer they work with. Desktops are becoming less prevalent because the limit where you can connect to the web. With a laptop or netbook, or even a smart phone, and a moble air card, you can have the Internet when and where you need it. They work usually with a USB cable or memory card slot and resetting your network preferences to automatically connect to any nearby signals. More and more restaurants and even simpler stops like gas stations are wired for wireless Internet, especially in the United States, so you never have to search too far to find the connection you are looking for.

Mobile broadband continues to reinvent itself in generations, clearly a technology that will stick around for some time to come in this age of information. Currently, the fourth generation of the mobile network was recently released, replacing 3G. However, 4G networks are still not as readily available as its older counterpart. It’s brand new and still being perfected, open only to a small amount of people in select states. It is not yet as established as 3G, though works in the same manner as its lesser connector: with cell towers that transmit the signals. As more people purchase smart phones and PDAs, the more quickly this network will be available worldwide.
