Then get stuff together so you are prepared to barbecue without any additional side trips letting the coals or gas die down. You need your grill be it gas, electric or charcoal. You can decide what grill to use, so it doesn't matter. You also need fuel depending on your grill heat source. Then fire it up and let it get to your desired cooking temperature. Number 2) Meat to Barbecue Of course you will need something to barbecue. Make sure you bought only some of the freshest. While your barbecue equipment is heating up, keep your meat fresh by putting them in a cool place and covering them until it's time for you to cook them. The possibilities for the main ingredients are endless; you can cook pork, beef patties, chicken steaks, hot dogs and even seafood. Sausages also make a great barbecue picks. Number 3) Sauces and Seasonings Don't just put that raw meat on the grill to cook and expect wonders; you must also marinate or sprinkle with some goodness while doing so. You can even use a sauce mop to add barbecue sauce to make it more flavorful. You can use wood chips or chunks for a flavorful smoke effect. Dried hardwoods are best because they don't have a sap which can give the meat a strange taste. These can be soaked or not and there are opinions that go both directions. You may also sprinkle herbs directly to your heat source or your meat to achieve that aromatic flavor you are looking for. Number 4) Accessories This can include forks, potholders or grill gloves, a spray bottle to douse down the heat flares, a quick read thermometer, and tongs for starters. Have them nearby so they're ready them when you need these items. Number 5) Cold Drinks If you are barbecuing in most cases a warm day or evening so of course you'll need a drink for cooling the throat during the time you grill.
