1. Flexibility. Yoga improves flexibility and helps to loosen muscles. With prolonged athletic activity, muscles become tight and more prone to injury. However, yoga helps to loosen those muscles, thus preventing injury.

2. Focus. Yoga helps you focus mind and body. This improves body-awareness, allowing you to notice early signs of fatigue or strain on a certain body part. This will allow you to take preventive measures to prevent injury.

3. Strength. If you're weak, you're more liable to break. Yoga strengthens and tones muscles and bones to help prevent injury.

4. Low Stress Levels. Yoga reduces stress which can relieve tense muscles. Therefore, helping to prevent injury.

5. Overall Health. Yoga helps improve digestion, cardiovascular health, and much more. This can all be significant to preventing injury.

Especially for athletes, it's crucial to prevent injury. I love to play sports, and preventing injury is a priority of mine- who wants to sit and watch their friends play? So whether you're playing competitive sports or not, yoga can help you prevent injury. It's helped me out significantly!
