5 Tips To Compose More Music
1. Workspace Tidy your workspace and make sure it's free from distractions. Having your gear setup and ready to go is a must. There's nothing worse than spending 20 minuets setting up before you can sit down to write. 2. Have a good filing system A good composer/producer is an organised one. Having your presets and virtual instruments ready and nicely organised means they can be ready to go with a mouse click. 3. Record Ideas When you're improvising on your instrument it's easy to come up with a great idea and forget it. Have a recording device near to keep a record of these gems, you never know when they'll come in handy. Inspiration can hit you anywhere, make sure you're prepared and you have your notebook with you. 4. Use shortcuts Get to know your software shortcuts and you'll be cutting down on repetitive tasks. It may only be a couple of seconds here and there, but by the end of the day that might be 30 minutes saved. Every little helps! 5. Disconnect Although is might seem important to always be checking your email or twitter it's an un-needed distraction. When sitting down for a serious session of writing or producing, close your email/twitter/ facebook, you won't miss anything.
