5 Top Tips To Keep Losing Weight

The main difficulty faced when losing weight is to keep on following your plan. It’s all too easy after a week or two to start slipping and add in a little treat. The thought of weeks and months of continuous attention can be a bit draining. Your weight always seems to go up twice as fast as come down.

Here are some tips to help you continue your plan and not lose enthusiasm or commitment until you reach your goal.

Be clear why you are doing it – keep a clear picture in your head of why you’re on the diet. Whether it’s a holiday, big occasion or just being fit, healthy and slim always remember your aim. Knowing where you want to end up keeps you motivated in the tough parts of your journey.

Write it down – Write down your goals and why you are doing it. Put them all over your living areas as constant reminders and reinforcement. Studies show quite clearly writing down your goals increases the success rate massively. Read them everyday as a reminder of where you are heading to in your life.

Picture yourself succeeding – Athletes do this all the time. Have a clear and detailed picture in your mind of the end result. Make it clear and detailed and return to it often. Picture colours, surroundings, people etc, even add in smells and sounds. Try to involve all your senses. You are implanting the expectation of success deep into your unconscious mind each time you do this.

Have a plan of action – this is the steps you’ll go through to reach your goal. It helps you plan and increases the chances of you succeeding. Each day jot down a few things such as eat an apple, pear and banana. Make veggie smoothie for lunch etc.

Announce your successes – Use affirmations each time you succeed. Speak in the present tense and congratulate yourself e.g. “today I have eaten no cookies”. Do this each day and feel your success.

You can succeed when you set your mind to it and these simple steps will help you get there.
