5 Ways To Add Personality To Your Emails

Are you sharing your life with your audience? If your not, it’s a big mistake.

Evidence suggests that emails with a strong personal connection significantly outperform those without.

When you add personality to your emails, over time your readers begin to feel more comfortable with you, begin to trust you and actually feel as though they know you. It is very important to build a strong one-on-one connection with your audience because people are much more likely to purchase from someone they know and trust.

Here are five simple ways to add personality to any communication you have with your audience.

1. Talk about your children or your pets.

If you are not comfortable talking about yourself one of the best ways to add personality to your emails is to talk about your children. What you say, you don’t have children.

Then talk about your pet. You would not believe how many people I know personally that talk about their pet as if it were their child.

2. Discuss your hobbies or how you like to spend your spare time.

When you discuss your hobbies you begin to share a little bit more about yourself with your audience. Discussing the ways you like to spend your spare time can give them an insight as to whether you enjoy exercising, painting, fishing or any other activities you may have in common.

3. Talk about the things you don’t like or the things that bother you.

Talking about the things that bother you can be a little bit tricky, but if it is done in the proper way it can be very beneficial.

I like to use this approach to explain a problem that was bothering me in my business and the step-by-step solution I came up with to resolve the issue. This is a great technique that many people use to create new products for their business.

4. Talk about the vacation your about to go on or the trip you just came back from.

The things that most people have in common are they work all week and spend most of their weekends doing yard work, running errands, and taking their children to soccer games. So, when we can find the time and the resources to actually take a vacation most of us talk about it for weeks to come.

Therefore, it should not be very difficult to talk about the big summer vacation your about to go on or share the experience of the weekend trip you just came back from.

5. Let your audience know when you’re not feeling well and when you’re feeling better.

Believe it or not, you will find you have a lot in common with your audience when it comes to your health. Especially, as you get older. When I tell my readers about pulling a muscle in my back, I get emails for days that express sympathy or give me tips to alleviate the pain.

If you really want to separate yourself from the crowd and connect to your target audience use any or all of these 5 simple ways to add personality to you emails.
