5 Ways To Treat Teen Acne

Teenagers probably suffer the most from acne. As a teenager of the 80's, I had the worse skin problems. And to add insult to injury, I had blotchy discolored skin as well. This totally, wrecked my social life and damaged my self-esteem. Today, I am acne free and happy. I do encounter small break outs every now and then, but nothing like those teenage years. I want to share some solid advice on how to treat teenage acne.

1. Wash your face twice a day
Wash in the morning and at night before you go to bed. After you wash your face at night, take 2 ice cubes and rub them
over your entire face. This will help control additional breakouts. This is the Golden Secret

2. Keep your face clean and oil free
Do not use excessive oils or lotions. These products often clog the skin causing more acne blemishes to form.

3. Eat more healthy foods and drink more water
If you decrease your intake of fast food and supplement your diet with more fruits and vegetables your skin will change.
Most importantly, drink more water and less soda and fruit drinks because your system needs to be cleansed often.

4. Try using natural products like tea tree oil or Echinacea.
These herbs also reduce the number of break outs and both have anti-inflammatory and anti-septic qualities.

5. Consult with a doctor.
If your acne is severe a doctor may be able to prescribe an oral medication such as antibiotics, oral contraceptives or
Accutane.
