5 Ways To Use Social Media
1). Connect: It is not just about selling your product or service. Social media marketing is about reaching your current and prospective customers and forming a connection. To achieve this, you need to be hands on with your social media campaign. If you are going to pay somebody to do this, make sure it is someone you trust to adequately represent your company and your brand. Always reply messages and comments and visit the pages of some in your social network. 2). Be open: Try as much as possible not to hide behind your brand. Sure, the main aim of marketing is to get your brand out there to the world. Nevertheless, people appreciate a peek every now and then, at the person behind the brand. As much as you can get without suffering from TMI (too much information), give your followers or those on your page, a glimpse of who you are. This helps them to feel like they are giving their business to someone trustworthy. 3). Solve a need: Research has shown that these days, people tend to turn to their social network for help and advice. There are several people on your network who either post or tweet about areas they need help in. If you can offer some help, even if it is to direct someone to where that person can find adequate help, you will be remembered. When that person wants to purchase a product or service you offer, guess who he or she would turn to? That person who helped. 4). Be direct: Your message needs to be direct. If you would like those in your social network or those who visit your page to subscribe to your list, ask them. You need to leave a clear and direct action call. You could easily include this in your info page on Facebook or LinkedIn or add it to the messages you send out to new followers on Twitter. Do not leave them guessing about what you do or what you are asking for. 5). Don't be too Pushy: If you have made your action call, do not force it. If all you do is shove your business in the face of your followers or those on your fan page, they are likely to quit following or unlike you. Nobody likes a pest so be careful not to be one. The cardinal rule to remember is that it is not about you; this is all about your customers and what will keep them coming back to you.
