6 Most Effective Exercises

When it comes down to exercise, there are many different choices. There is walking, running, bicycling, weight training, crunches, aerobics, and rollerblading (to name a few). So how do we know which type of exercise offers the most rewards?

One of the best exercises is walking. Walking is very beneficial to your health and one of the easiest fitness options that a beginner could get involved in. A great benefit of walking is that you can do it anywhere and anytime, all you need is a good pair of shoes. Beginners should start by walking 5-10 minutes per day and slowly increase their intervals to 30 minutes per day. Another great way of exercising is interval training. This type of fitness helps you burn more calories and lose more weight while at the same time challenging your body. Basically, what interval training means is that you vary the intensity of your workout. You simply push up the pace for a minute or two, and then you go back to normal speed for ten minutes.

Squats and lunges are also very effective forms of exercise. Both of these fitness moves target numerous muscles of the body while at the same time helping you lose weight and tone your body. While lunges help improve your balance, squats work your quadriceps, hamstrings, and gluteus. Pushups also target several muscle groups: chest, shoulders, triceps and core muscles. Although this fitness move may appear difficult, beginners can make the process easier by starting out with more elevated positions, such as leaning on the kitchen counter. And the last addition to the hall of fame of effective exercises is the abdominal crunch. There are various ways to perform this fitness move. The only thing to remember is that your neck should always be aligned with your spine in order for the move to the effective. So the next time you are putting together a fitness regimen, incorporate some of these effective exercises.
