Are you still thinking over reasons to order satellite TV? You might think we have exhausted ten good reasons by now, but you would be wrong. It turns out that satellite TV boasts the most exciting programs in any entertainment medium, far surpassing the best cable, Internet and movie theaters have to offer. Do you doubt? Well here are 6 reasons to set you straight.
1. Ghosthunters
Honestly, aren’t you sick of watching Ghosthunters online? If you really want to be spooked you have to watch scary stuff on a big screen HDTV and sitting comfortably in a big cozy chair. With satellite TV you get the Sci-Fi Channel and all of the most original and groundbreaking reality and scripted series on TV today.
2. John Adams and House of Saddam
If you want history (at least history in the old ham-it-up acting sort of way) you can’t go wrong with Paul Giamatti in the “John Adams” mini-series or with “The House of Saddam”, which details the private life of one of the world’s most feared dictators. Historical films never seem to have happy endings but at least they get you thinking. These series are showing exclusively on HBO.
3. Frozen River
This sleeper hit earned two Academy Award nominations at the 2008 ceremony, for Lead Actress Melissa Leo and for Courtney Hunt’s script. The movie focuses on two working class women who are forced to smuggle illegal immigrants in the trunk of a car as they travel from Canada to the U.S. This film, premiering on satellite TV Pay-Per-View won rave reviews for its emotionally charged, issue-oriented storyline.
4. Supreme Court of Comedy
This original series is exclusive to a satellite TV company and plays like a parody of the People’s Court. Comedians face off in a battle of unscripted wits as they plead their hilarious case to sarcastic judge and comedian Dom Irrera. Past episodes have included guest stars Tom Arnold, Paula Poundstone, Jamie Kennedy, Jon Lovitz, and Paul Rodriguez. This mockery of American justice has to be seen to be believed!
5. The Big Mix
This isn’t a program, but a new feature on satellite TV that allows viewers to watch several programs on the same screen via split screen technology. You may have already heard of The Game Mix NFL Sunday Ticket feature, but now the “mixing” technology is spreading out to other venues. Viewers can now enjoy mixing various news channels, various sports at once, (not just limited to the NFL) and other programs. Satellite TV brings you the best of every world—simultaneously!
6. Curb Your Enthusiasm
It’s hard to write good comedy these days, especially considering that most network comedy shows these days are quirkier and sexier than they are truly funny. The antidote to all this new age irony? Good old fashioned belly laughs which come from “Seinfeld’s” own Larry David. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is the funniest ha-ha show on TV, and always manages to bring belly laughs out of the most inappropriate subjects. Stay tuned this season when “Seinfeld” alumni Jerry, Julia, Jason and Michael actually reunite in Larry’s neighborhood.
