7 Acne Treatment Tips To Help Clear Acne

Overnight acne treatment can make a big difference when it comes to reducing the appearance of a large pimple. It’s a situation that has happened to many of us at some point. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to help keep it under control and make it a lot less noticeable.

1. A soothing mask made of oatmeal and yogurt can help to reduce inflammation and redness that accompanies acne flare-ups. Mix finely ground oatmeal with yogurt to make a paste and apply it to your face. Make sure to avoid eye areas so that they won't be irritated. Leave the paste on for 15 minutes before washing and patting dry. For sensitive skin, a mask of honey and oatmeal will gently reduce inflammation.

2. Sea salt can work very quickly as an overnight acne treatment. Just mix some sea salt with enough water to make a paste and apply it to the affected area. Rinse it off in the morning and you should find the pimple much smaller than the night before. Salt is a natural antiseptic and can kill the bacteria that is clogging your pores. It does sting a little bit, and you might want to put a dab of honey on top of it if you have dry skin to help counteract the drying action of the salt.

3. Neem is used for the treatment of all sorts of skin problems. It contains Nimbidol and Gedunin, which have very good fungicidal properties. Neem has proved to be beneficial in skin disorders such as warts, scabies, psoriasis, eczema, and even dandruff. It is extremely effective in acne treatment.

4. Zinc and beta-carotene are antioxidants that are responsible for healthy skin. A diet that is rich in minerals and vitamins will help to heal the skin faster and remove spots and scars. Green leafy veggies, spinach, lettuce, carrots and red chili peppers are rich in beta carotene and they help clear acne. Protein-rich meats, lamb, seafood, pork, beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, crabmeat, clams and lobster are rich in zinc. For vegetarians zinc rich foods would include pumpkin seeds, beans, cereals, dairy products, whole grain breads, potatoes, etc.

5. Toothpaste is one of the most tried and true home remedies known to teen girls. Just dab a bit over a pimple and sleep on it. The drying action of the paste helps to reduce the bump while you rest. For best results, use a non-fluoride paste instead of a gel. Those with sensitive skin should leave the paste on for only 15 minutes to prevent their skin from overdrying.

6. Ice is very effective at reducing swelling and normally swelling contributes quite bit to the appearance of these huge pimples. Wrap ice in a towel and place it on the pimple for up to fifteen minutes at a time, taking breaks in between.

7. Cucumber is one of the easiest and refreshing treatments used for the treatment of acne and to refreshen up the skin. It makes our skin feel looking young. Blend the cucumber into a paste and apply it on the affected area. Leave it for 30 to 45 minutes and then wash it off.
