7 Tips To Write Articles That Rock

Why write dull, lifeless articles when you can be an article marketing rock star. Your articles are your stage where you perform, just like a rock band at a concert. Have you ever gone to see a live band and they were really dull? How did this make you feel? Bored? You bet. And did you run out after the show and buy their CD and t-shirt? I doubt it. What about being at a concert where the band rocked? I bet you felt excited and became a big fan as well.

What does this have to do with article marketing? A lot. Writing boring articles will not get you very far. However, writing articles that rock will gain you exposure, fans, and make it more likely that people will buy what you are selling.

Here are the 7 keys to writing article that rock:

1. Pick a Topic That Rocks

You need to know the current hot buttons of your target market. If you do not, do some research. Visit forums and see what the current hot topics are and what questions people are asking.

You can also visit article directories to discover what is currently being written about almost anything.

2. Create a Rocking Headline

Your headline is the single most important part of your article. You want to use a headline that draws readers like a magnet and entices them to read your article.

Do yourself a favor and Google "how to write headlines". You will find some fantastic free resources that will help you write headlines that not only rock, but also increase the chances that your article will get read.

3. The AIDA Principle Rocks

AIDA = Attention Interest Desire Action

This formula is not new but it works. Big time. You grab your readers attention with an enticing headline and then, and this is absolutely critical, you keep them reading with an opening paragraph that rocks.

How do you do this? Tell your readers right up front that reading your article is going to answer a specific question, solve a problem, or alleviate a fear. And you know what these questions, fears, and problems are because you have done your research.

A great tip is to use short sentences and paragraphs in your article as well. This will make your content much easier to read, keeping in my mind that most people online skim content as opposed to reading it word for word.

4. The Use of Sub-Headings Rocks

Dividing your article into a few sections with relevant (and keyword oriented) sub-headings will not only make your article easier to read as I mentioned above, but it makes articles much easier to write as well.

Next time you are having trouble writing an article, try dividing your topic up into 3 to 5 sub-headings and tackle one section at a time. Very cool.

5. Write a Rocking Resource Box

The resource box is your big opportunity to get readers to perform the action you want.

Make it compelling. Make it flow from the article. Make your reader anxious to get your free report, free download, or opt-in to your ezine.

Look at the resource boxes of some of the successful article marketers and you will get a great idea of how to write one that rocks.

6. Proofreading Rocks

Spelling mistakes and bad grammar are unprofessional and will leave a bad impression on your reader. And this is exactly what you do NOT want!

You want to earn the trust of your readers. Remember, your article, the words you write, represent you.

7. Rock Your Article Out To the World

Submit your article to directories. Develop a list of ezines in your niche and submit it to them. The bottom line, be a rocking promoter for your material.

Following these 7 tips is like a road map to article marketing success because it will make your articles stand out from the crowd. And all great rock stars really stand out and get noticed, do they not?
