7 Tips For A Perfect Preparation For Your Holiday

When you go on vacation you should be really well prepared. This will save you from a lot of stress and you'll enjoy your holiday more thoroughly.

Empty the trashcans
This probably sounds really easy. Of coarse you should empty the trashcans... But you always forget one, or maybe even all of them. And when you return home your entire house smells like rotting trash. Maybe you could even have mice or rats...

Close all windows
Make sure that before you leave all windows and doors are closed. Also make sure the little window in the bathroom is closed. You could also open the curtains so you don't make the impression your on vacation. This way you minimize the chance of being burgled.

Turn off all electric devices and extension cords
Avoid having electric devices in stand by mode or turned on which can be shut down while you're gone. This cuts in the electricity costs because most of the time these devices are really unnecessary while you're away.

Vacuum the house
Clean the entire house before you leave. A little peanut or a french frie can easily be dropped the day before. But if it's been decomposing in the carpet for a couple of weeks whereafter it slowly crawls to a dark corner of your home isn't something you want to return home to.

Refrigerator
The refrigerator is often overlooked and forgotten the day people leave for their holiday. Of course you have better things to think about. But be careful that you do empty the fridge, and when you turn it off, open the door. You don't want to spend your evening cleaning the refrigerator the day you're back from vacation.

Plants
Don't forget to bring the plants to the neighbors so they can water them. You could also give the neighbors a key to your home so they can come over to water the plants. Also, don't forget to throw away the flowers before you leave. They'll be wilted when you get back so there's no use in keeping them while you're gone.

Take the garbage out
Ask someone from your neighbourhood to take the garbage out so it can be collected. Otherwise it will rot and you'll have to do twice the amount of time with the same garbagecart.
