In this step, you will be putting the grain right into a bag and afterwards, placing that bag into some water. You can determine how much grain you will use depending on the demands of the recipe you are making. 2nd step: Heating This step is essential in order to acquire the flavour of the grains that are in the liquid. You are required only to heat your mixture to a specific value of temperature. Do not boil it yet. Boiling will be done on the other steps. 3rd step: Adding the extract In your first few times, it is advisable that you use an extract that is in a syrup form. The extract, together with the grain, is one of the main ingredients that will provide your beer its flavour. 4th step: Adding the hops The final thing that will provide your beer with flavour is the hops. This is added usually a lot of times during the process of brewing. When you will add the hops and the kind of hops you will add will be the determining factors of how your beer will taste like. 5th step: Boiling Bring the liquid into a boil to release the flavour. The other trapped flavours in the grains and the hops will be affected in this step. 6th step: Cooling quickly Once you have achieved a boil and have held it there for quite a while, you will have to take the wort or malt and cool it fast. It is advisable to do this near a bathtub with ice or a sink. 7th step: Transferring to fermenting Once your malt has cooled in an ice bath, you can now transfer it into a container and let it stand for a couple of weeks. Once you have transferred it all, you can opt to add some water in order to top it all off. 8th step: Adding the yeast The yeast is responsible for making home brew beer alcoholic. During this period of time, lots of foam will be forming. Add the liquid or powdered yeast and finally cover the ferment. 9th step: Waiting It will take a lot of weeks for the yeast to fully mature and react.
